Covidien Insulated EDGE Coated Electrodes E1465-6
The Insulated EDGE Coated Electrode E1465‑6 is a sterile, single-use needle electrode used in monopolar electrosurgery. It features a long 6.5‑inch (16.51 cm) PTFE-insulated shaft to protect surrounding tissues from unintended thermal spread. The proprietary EDGE elastomeric coating concentrates electrical current at the tip, enabling precise cutting and coagulation with minimal sticking.
The E1465‑6 electrode is designed for deep, delicate surgical procedures where insulation and reach are both essential. Its PTFE insulation acts as a barrier, reducing the risk of unintended contact or current spread to adjacent tissues. The EDGE coating ensures efficient energy delivery by lowering the power required for cutting and minimizing the buildup of char or eschar. After use, the durable coating allows the electrode to be wiped clean using a moist sponge, avoiding time-consuming scraping and helping maintain workflow in the operating room.
