Cook Amplatz Sheath G46031
The Amplatz Sheath G46031 is a medical-grade tubular sheath used to maintain a nephrostomy tract during percutaneous kidney procedures. It forms a stable “working channel” so instruments, scopes, or catheters can pass into the kidney without repeated dilations. The sheath is sterile, radiopaque and intended for single use.
The Amplatz Sheath G46031 is designed to preserve a previously established percutaneous renal tract, allowing smooth insertion and exchange of surgical instruments without additional trauma. Made from PTFE (or similar biocompatible radiopaque polymer), it has a bevelled tip for atraumatic placement and a rigid, kink-resistant wall for stable access. Its radiopacity ensures the surgeon can visualize its position under fluoroscopy for precise placement and safe instrument passage. Once positioned, the sheath provides a consistent conduit from skin to kidney, which helps reduce tissue disruption during nephrolithotomy, stone removal, or other renal access procedures.
