The GENESYS Matryx 8.0 × 35.0 mm Interference Screw is an orthopedic implant used in ligament reconstruction surgery. It stabilizes grafts (such as ACL or PCL) within bone tunnels. Its biocomposite composition supports bone in-growth while gradually being resorbed.
This interference screw provides firm fixation during the critical early healing phase, then gradually transitions to promote biological integration as bone replaces its scaffold. It is made from CONMED’s GENESYS biocomposite—a blend of microTCP and PLA (96L/4D)—for both mechanical support and biocompatibility. The thread design extends to the distal tip to ease insertion and minimize graft damage, and the head is low-profile to reduce stress in the bone tunnel. It is indicated for graft fixation in ACL, PCL, or other ligament reconstruction procedures using soft tissue or bone–tendon grafts.
