The Contour Meniscus Arrow 80L/20D PLA (Ref 541110) is a resorbable meniscal fixation implant designed for arthroscopic repair of meniscus tears. It is made of a high-strength self-reinforced 80% L- and 20% D-polylactic acid (PLA) copolymer material. The implant has an outer diameter of 1.1 mm and a length of 10 mm, designed for use in the vascular zone of the meniscus.
This implant is engineered to provide initial fixation strength during the critical healing period of the meniscus and then gradually resorb, eliminating the need for removal. The barbed shaft design ensures secure anchoring within the meniscal tissue while the low-profile contoured head minimises cartilage irritation. The faster-resorbing 80L/20D PLA copolymer retains strength for up to 24 weeks during remodeling before safely degrading.The device allows for simplifying arthroscopic meniscal repair by avoiding knot-tying and reducing soft-tissue trauma.
