The WallFlex™ Fully Covered Esophageal Stent is a sterile, single-use self-expanding nitinol stent with an 18 mm body diameter and flared ends (25 mm proximal, 23 mm distal). It is 10.3 cm long and delivered via a low-profile 18.5 Fr (≈ 6.17 mm), 78 cm delivery system over a 0.038″ guidewire. Designed to maintain esophageal patency and seal fistulas or prevent tumor ingrowth using a full Permalume™ silicone covering.
This knitted nitinol stent offers balanced radial force and flexibility to conform to the esophagus, expanding gradually over 24–72 hours to relieve obstruction while minimizing patient discomfort. Its full silicone covering resists tumor ingrowth and helps prevent food impaction or fistula leakage. The progressive step flared ends aid anchoring and reduce migration risk in both malignant and benign strictures. A Teflon™-coated removal suture allows repositioning or retrieval during the initial procedure if needed.
