The WallFlex™ Biliary RX Partially Covered Stent is a single-use, laser-cut nitinol metal stent with a 10 mm diameter and 60 mm length, delivered through an 8.5 Fr (≈ 2.83 mm) catheter. It features a Permalume partial covering to resist tissue ingrowth while allowing side-branch drainage. Designed for palliation of malignant biliary strictures with flared, looped ends to minimize migration risk.
The partially covered design combines the benefits of covering central length to limit tumor ingrowth while leaving ends open for bile duct side branches—reducing risk of obstruction. Its Platinol wire structure provides flexibility for navigation through tortuous anatomy, and the reconstrainable delivery system (up to 80%) allows precise positioning under fluoroscopy. Flared looped ends help prevent migration and reduce trauma. Tantalum markers and a yellow transition zone enhance radiographic visibility during placement.
