Boston Scientific Epic Biliary Endoscopic Stent System M00572300
The Boston Scientific Epic™ Biliary Endoscopic Stent System is a single-use, laser-cut nitinol metal stent designed for palliative treatment of malignant biliary strictures. It features an 8 mm diameter and 100 mm length, delivered via a low-profile 6 Fr catheter compatible with 0.035″ guidewires. The 220 cm delivery system includes tantalum radiopaque markers at both ends for precise fluoroscopic deployment.
The Epic stent is engineered to minimize foreshortening for enhanced placement accuracy, reducing the need for overlapping stents or repositioning. Its laser-cut Nitinol construction offers flexibility to navigate tight strictures while resisting kinking during and after deployment. The thumb-wheel deployment mechanism—offering tactile and audible feedback—or optional pull-grip allows controlled and confident release. With a 220 cm working length, it supports both ERCP and balloon-assisted enteroscopy approaches, and is MRI‑conditional at 1.5 T/3 T.
