Boston Scientific WallFlex Esophageal Stents M00516740
The WallFlex Fully Covered Esophageal Stent is a sterile, single-use self-expanding nitinol stent with a 23 mm body diameter and 28 mm flared ends at both proximal and distal tips. It measures 12.5 cm in length and is deployed via an 18.5 Fr (≈ 6.17 mm) delivery system over a 0.038″ guidewire. Designed to restore esophageal patency in malignant strictures and prevent tumor ingrowth or seal fistulas, it features a full silicone covering.
With its braided nitinol structure, this stent combines gentle radial force and flexibility to adapt to esophageal movement while maintaining lumen openness over 24–72 hours. The full Permalume silicone covering resists tumor ingrowth and seals fistulas, reducing food impaction and re-occlusion. Flared ends at both sides enhance anchorage, reducing migration risk in both benign and malignant strictures. A Teflon-coated removal suture allows repositioning or retrieval during initial placement, and the delivery system is reconstrainable up to 75% deployment.
