The WallFlex Fully Covered Esophageal Stent is a sterile, single-use nitinol stent with an 18 mm body and flared ends (25 mm proximal / 23 mm distal). It measures 15.3 cm in length and is delivered via an 18.5 Fr coaxial catheter over a 0.038″ guidewire. Designed to maintain esophageal patency and seal fistulas or prevent tumor ingrowth using a Permalume silicone covering.
This knitted nitinol stent combines flexibility and consistent radial force to gradually open strictures over 24–72 hours, optimizing comfort and function. The full silicone covering prevents tumor ingrowth, seals fistulas, and reduces food impaction, while flared ends enhance anchorage and reduce migration risk. A Teflon-coated removal suture allows repositioning or removal during initial placement, and the coaxial delivery system enables 1:1 deployment with reconstrainment up to 75%. The device is MRI-conditional, supporting safe postoperative imaging.
