The WallFlex Biliary RX Partially Covered Stent is a sterile, single-use self-expanding nitinol stent with a 10 mm diameter and 80 mm length. It features a Permalume™ partial silicone covering (central 70 mm) to reduce tumor ingrowth, while leaving ends open for drainage. Delivered via an 8 Fr (≈ 2.67 mm), 194 cm catheter over a 0.035″ guidewire, it includes flared ends and a retrieval loop.
Engineered for palliative relief of malignant biliary strictures, this stent balances ingrowth prevention with side-branch drainage due to its partially covered design. The Permalume™ coating spans 70 mm centrally, while its open ends allow biliary side-branch drainage. A flared and looped end design reduces migration risk and tissue trauma, and the integrated retrieval loop aids repositioning before release. The reconstrainable 8 Fr delivery system (up to ~80%) enhances placement accuracy under fluoroscopy.
