Boston Scientific Epic Biliary Endoscopic Stent System M00572330
The Boston Scientific Epic Biliary Endoscopic Stent System is a single-use laser-cut self-expanding metal stent used to palliate malignant biliary strictures. It has a 10 mm diameter and 80 mm stent length, delivered on a low-profile 6 Fr catheter over a 0.035″ guidewire. Tantalum radiopaque markers at both stent ends and a 220 cm delivery catheter enable precise placement under fluoroscopy.
Engineered to minimize foreshortening, the Epic stent ensures accurate deployment and reduces the need for additional overlapping stents. Its flexible, laser-cut Nitinol structure allows delivery through tight malignant strictures while resisting kinking. The thumb-wheel deployment mechanism offers both tactile and auditory feedback—or optional pull-grip—for precise control during release. Compatible with ERCP and balloon-assisted enteroscopy (220 cm catheter), it is indicated for palliative relief of unresectable biliary obstructions.
