Covidien Insulated EDGE Coated Electrodes E1465-4
The Insulated EDGE Coated Electrode E1465‑4 is a sterile, single‑use needle electrode for electrosurgery. It features PTFE insulation to protect adjacent tissues from unintended burns. The EDGE elastomeric coating concentrates current at the tip, enabling precise cutting with reduced sticking.
The E1465‑4 extended needle electrode is designed for procedures requiring deeper reach, combining a 10.16 cm (4 in) shaft with safe insulation. Its PTFE insulation provides a protective barrier, reducing the risk of stray current damaging nearby structures during surgery. The EDGE coating delivers efficient electrosurgical cutting and coagulation at lower power settings, minimizing char formation and tissue adherence. After use, it can be wiped clean easily with a moist sponge, reducing interruptions in the surgical flow.
