Covidien Insulated EDGE Coated Electrodes E1455-6
The Insulated EDGE Coated Electrode E1455‑6 is a sterile, single-use blade electrode used in electrosurgery. It features a long 6.5‑inch (16.51 cm) PTFE-insulated shaft to prevent contact with surrounding tissue. The proprietary EDGE elastomeric coating concentrates current at the edge, giving precise cutting and coagulation with reduced sticking.
The E1455‑6 electrode is specifically designed for deep and restricted surgical sites, combining insulation and a long reach to minimize collateral tissue damage. Its PTFE insulation offers a safety barrier against unintentional current spread, which is particularly valuable in delicate procedures. The EDGE coating provides efficient cutting at lower power settings while reducing char formation and tissue adherence. After use, the electrode maintains its integrity and can be wiped clean with a moist sponge, simplifying the surgical workflow.
