Covidien Insulated EDGE Coated Electrodes E1455-4
The Insulated EDGE Coated Electrode E1455‑4 is a sterile, single-use blade electrode designed for electrosurgery. It has a 4‑inch (10.16 cm) insulated PTFE shaft for safe use in delicate or restricted surgical sites. The EDGE elastomeric coating concentrates the current at the blade edge, enabling efficient cutting at lower power.
The E1455‑4 electrode is engineered for deep or extended surgical applications where insulated protection is needed to avoid unintended tissue damage. Its PTFE insulation provides a reliable barrier against stray currents, making it safer in proximity to sensitive structures. The EDGE coating reduces sticking, minimizes char formation, and ensures superior cutting performance even at lower energy settings. After use, the durable coating can be wiped clean with a moist sponge, helping to reduce surgical interruptions.
