Covidien Insulated EDGE Coated Electrodes E1455
The Insulated EDGE Coated Electrode E1455 is a sterile, single-use blade electrode used in electrosurgery. It features PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) insulation to prevent inadvertent contact with surrounding tissues. The EDGE™ elastomeric coating concentrates current at the edge, enabling precise cutting and coagulation with reduced sticking.
The E1455 insulated blade electrode is engineered for procedures in restricted surgical sites where protection from adjacent tissue is critical. Its PTFE insulation offers a safety barrier, reducing the risk of accidental thermal injury to nearby structures. The EDGE coating provides high-performance cutting and coagulation while reducing char and eschar formation, even at lower power settings. After use, the durable coating remains intact and can be wiped clean with a moist sponge, minimizing interruptions during surgery.
