Covidien Standard EDGE Coated Electrodes E1452-6
The Standard EDGE Coated Electrode E1452‑6 is a sterile, single-use needle electrode used in electrosurgery. It has a long 6.5‑inch (16.51 cm) shaft for reaching deeper surgical sites. Its EDGE elastomeric coating concentrates current at the tip, enabling precise cutting at lower power with minimal sticking.
The E1452‑6 EDGE Coated Needle Electrode is designed for fine dissection and coagulation in deep or hard‑to-access anatomical areas. Its proprietary elastomeric EDGE coating improves cutting efficiency and reduces tissue adhesion compared to uncoated electrodes. The coating also maintains its integrity even when the electrode is bent (up to ~90°), giving more flexibility during surgery. After use, the electrode can be quickly wiped clean with a moist sponge, reducing the need for scraping and thereby minimizing interruptions.
