Conmed Spectrum AutoPass Suture Passer (Reusable) SMI-02AP
The Spectrum AutoPass Suture Passer (SMI-02AP) is a reusable orthopedic instrument for passing suture through thick soft tissue, especially in rotator cuff repair. It features an active trap-door mechanism allowing one-handed suture capture and retrieval. Designed to fit down a 5.5 mm cannula and used with #2 Hi-Fi suture.
The AutoPass’s trap-door design lets the surgeon load suture either at the jaw or inside the joint and capture or release it as needed, reducing time and steps. The jaws include a vertical needle exit and a relief cut to ensure reliable suture passage in thick rotator cuff tissue without shredding or tearing. It allows consistent bite depths (up to about 18 mm) and has 5 mm markings to help predict placement of the suture. Being reusable, it supports sterilization and repeated use when handled per manufacturer instructions.
