The SpyBite Max Biopsy Forceps are sterile, single-use forceps with a slim 1.0 mm (0.039″) cable diameter and 1.0 mm jaw outer diameter, featuring a 286 cm working length. Designed to work through a ≥ 1.2 mm channel, they’re ideal for targeted tissue sampling in the biliary and pancreatic ducts under SpyGlass™ visualization. Features enhanced jaw design to capture larger biopsy samples.
With a redesigned jaw profile, front and side serrations, and elongated fenestrations, the SpyBite Max acquires more than twice the tissue per bite compared to the previous SpyBite model. This improves diagnostic yield and reduces procedural time—97% tissue acquisition rate and 89–88% of users report greater confidence in challenging positions. Compatible with the SpyGlass DS II system, the forceps facilitate precise sampling of strictures, mucosal lesions, and intraductal masses under direct visualization. The device is intended for single use and requires handling with care, especially in procedures involving sharp angulation due to occasional reports of jaw malfunction.
