The Medtronic AbsorbaTack™ Fixation Device (ABSTACK30X) is a single-use, 5 mm laparoscopic tool designed for securing mesh during hernia repair surgeries. It features a 36 cm shaft and delivers 30 absorbable tacks made from a polyester copolymer. The ergonomic pistol-grip handle and spiral delivery system ensure precise and controlled placement without the need for sharp piloting needles.
Designed for laparoscopic hernia repair, the AbsorbaTack™ Fixation Device offers a minimally invasive solution with a 5 mm shaft and ergonomic pistol-grip handle. The device delivers 30 absorbable tacks made from a polyester copolymer, which are dyed with D&C Violet No. 2 for enhanced visibility. The spiral delivery system allows for precise placement of tacks, and the device continues to deploy tacks even when the shaft is flexed over 3 cm. The AbsorbaTack™ device provides strong temporary mesh fixation while leaving no foreign material in the body over time, reducing the risk of inadvertent needle sticks in the operating room.
